If you have ever wondered how to have a business out of your home, be present with your family and kids, and stay organized through it all, you don't want to miss Rachel's story. Oh and PS: her home garage is a home mom entrepreneur's goals!

In this series I'll be interviewing mom entrepreneurs with different businesses. You'll be able to see into their lives and businesses and find encouragement, support and inspiration to keep moving forward in your own mom entrepreneur journey. So please subscribe to this blog to get the next issue each month!

(This conversation will be a question and answer style interview with my questions in bold type and Rachel's answers underneath.)

Supporting Mom Entrepreneurs: How to Find Balance Running a Business From Home - An Inspirational Story from Rachel Clark

What’s your name and the name of your business?

Rachel Clark – I own Sahuaro Lane

What do you offer and who is it for?

We offer custom engraved gifts & Home Décor. Each item we make is unique and made just for our amazing customers!

How long have you been a mom entrepreneur?

I've been a mom entrepreneur since 2012! It all started with making special gifts for friends and family, and over time, it grew into the business we have today. It’s been an amazing journey turning my passion into something so special.

How long has your current business been operating?

Our business has been growing and evolving since the beginning. We started with t-shirts and hand-stamped jewelry, and now we specialize in custom engraving. One thing has always stayed the same—every item we create is personalized and made just for you!

Tell me what got you into this business?

I started my business after my second son was born, looking for a way to help provide for my family while being more than “just a mom.” It gave me a creative outlet and a way to fill my bucket while doing something I love! The best part is seeing the joy on someone’s face when they receive one of our personalized pieces as a gift—it makes every moment of this journey so special.

What keeps you going in this business?

My customers are what keep me going! Knowing that the items we create hold meaning, celebrate special moments, and bring joy to others is so rewarding. Hearing their stories and seeing their reactions reminds me why I started this journey in the first place. It’s truly an honor to be a small part of their memories!

What is your favorite thing about what you do?

My favorite thing about what I do is taking everyday items and turning them into something meaningful. Whether it’s a charcuterie board for a wedding or anniversary gift, or a tumbler that brings back memories of a special trip, I love creating pieces that tell a story and hold sentimental value.

Why did you want to collaborate with the Biz Mom Planner Company?

I love the community that Biz Mom Planner Company works to create. I’m a lover of paper planners and these are beautiful accessories!

What makes Mom Entrepreneurs special?

Mom entrepreneurs are incredible go-getters. We know how to hustle, balancing business and family life while chasing our dreams. We pour our hearts into what we do, creating something special while providing for the ones we love. It’s a tough but amazing journey, and we wouldn’t have it any other way!

Favorite type of planner?

I’m obsessed with all things planners! They help me stay organized and balanced in both my personal life and business. There’s something so satisfying about writing things down, making a plan, and seeing my goals laid out—it keeps me motivated and focused!

What is your favorite way to plan/organize for the week?

My favorite way to plan for the week is by writing out my goals, appointments, and tasks. Seeing everything laid out on paper keeps me organized and gives me the motivation to tackle the week ahead. It helps me stay focused and make the most of my time!

(Note from Tiffani: Our "Work & Life" Planners have plenty of spaces dedicated for goals, appointments and tasks. - Check out our planners HERE)

How many kids do you have and what are their ages?

I am a mom of 4. An 18 year old son, 14 year old son, and 11 year old twin daughters.

Tell me a little more about you as a mom.

I’ve been married for 17 years and have 4 amazing kids. Our children are our world, and I’m always striving to set an example for them, showing that they can have dreams and goals beyond just being a mom. I hope they see that pursuing your passions and balancing family life is something truly achievable!

How do you find Mom life, business life balance?

It took years to figure out, but finding balance between mom life and business life requires planning, organization, and setting boundaries. Since we work out of our home garage, it’s especially challenging to draw clear lines between work and home. But we’re a family business, and some of our greatest memories come from working on orders together as a family—it makes the hustle feel even more meaningful!

Any tips for other mom entrepreneurs?

My biggest tip for other mom entrepreneurs is to embrace the chaos and stay organized! Set clear goals, prioritize your time, and don’t be afraid to ask for help when you need it. It’s a balancing act, but with passion and perseverance, you can make it work! And always remember to celebrate the small wins along the way!

How can other mom entrepreneurs find your business and support you?

You can find us on Etsy at www.sahuarolane.etsy.com. (Our website is currently under construction so linking to Etsy is best.)

About the Blog Founder:

From one Mama to another (a letter of encouragement):

Hi Mama! I am Tiffani,

I make hand made planners for busy moms and mom entrepreneurs.

Having other businesses prior to this one, I knew having a good planner and staying organized helped me move my business forward.

However after the birth of my first daughter I couldn't find a planner that really met the needs of a mom entrepreneur. I also wanted to find a community for mom entrepreneurs.

Since I couldn't find either, I decided to make both.

Our planners are undated and have an open concept layout that allows moms to change the way they plan as they change through all the stages of their business, motherhood, and life.

Our blog is a place for moms to come and be inspired, encouraged, and know that they are not alone in their journey.

I invite you to join me and all the other moms by subscribing to our newsletter.

In our newsletter you'll find out about our newest planners and stationery and when new blog posts come out.

And because I am the one who writes our newsletters, you  can always hit reply to one to reach out to me personally.

Hope to get to know you soon!

-Tiffani
